Valentine’s Day Concert in Oklahoma City November 28, 2011 14:26

Friends and supporters of the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum will have the opportunity to enjoy a magical evening with Darla Z in a Valentine’s Day concert at the Cox Center in Oklahoma City. Proceeds from the concert by singer/songwriter Darla Zuhdi will benefit the Children’s Museum’s scholarship admissions program. Tickets on sale now (see below for ticket information).

Darla Z regularly performs in Las Vegas at Sam’s Town and South Point Casinos and has had numerous appearances on television and radio. She has opened in concert for performing artists Willie Nelson and Wayne Newton.

In November, 2010, Zuhdi was named by the Oklahoma Heritage Association as the 2010 Oklahoma Hall of Fame Special Guest and Featured Vocalist.

Comedienne Dr. Ann Lacy will be a special guest performer for the Valentine’s Day concert. Lacy began her comedy career in the 1980s and was a regular guest at Joker's Comedy Club in Oklahoma City. Since that time, Lacy has been entertaining audiences with her quick wit and comic genius.

In addition to her work as a concert performer, she is a published author of the Cat Detectives series for children. Zuhdi’s first book, Tale of a Christmas Angel, was published in 2000. Since that time, three additional books have been published in her series. One of her books, Finding Your Dream, has been recommended by The Humane Society of the United States.

Sponsorships for tables of ten guests are available at two levels: $2,000 and $1,000. Individuals may purchase tickets for the dinner and concert for $100 per person. Single tickets for the concert only, are $25 per person.

Proceeds from the tribute will be used to support exhibits and admission scholarships at the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum in Seminole. The Museum is a favorite destination for school field trips and family outings. The hands-on, award-winning museum is uniquely created as an imaginary town where children can role-play a variety of occupations.

Anyone interested in attending the concert, or receiving more information about table sponsorships for the event, may contact the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum Executive Director Marci Donaho at 405-382-0950 or by email at mdonaho@jasminemoran.com.
